Green space and more sustainable landscapes

It's not just about buildings...  each year since 2010 OSU has been awarded "Tree Campus USA" status by the Arbor Day Foundation, OSU also strives to restore habitat, protect waterways and create additional green spaces around campus.

Getting to Campus

OSU has for years provided alternatives to the single occupancy vehicle.  Anyone visiting Corvallis can enjoy the fareless Corvallis Transit System, coutesy of the City of Corvallis and partners like OSU. 

Driving an electric vehicle?  We have 21 EV chargers available on two different networks.

Sustainable Eating

University Housing and Dining Services (UHDS) tries to make their activities and services as sustainable as possible.  To see what UHDS is doing in their facilities, which include three large dining centers, please see their sustainability page

There are a number of restaurants in Corvallis that support local agriculture and have implemented more sustainable practices at their businesses.  The Corvallis Sustainability Coalition issued a list of restaurants that strive to use ingredients from nearby counties. 

 

Waste & Recycling

OSU strives to decrease its landfill-bound waste by reducing, reusing and recycling;  Campus Recycling spearheads these efforts.  Please help us keep our campus beautiful by reducing what you need to throw away, and properly disposing of what does need to be discarded.
