In alignment with Division of Finance and Administration (DFA) Guiding Principle "Community safety and respect for all its members embodies our core values and enables our mission", the DFA Food Insecurity Committee seeks to increase student success by working to reduce the strain of food insecurity in our students. The techniques and overarching key metrics for the committee include, but are not limited to, the following:
Any student who would like to learn more about free assistance with affording sufficient groceries, or who lacks a safe and stable place to live, and believes this may affect their academic success in any way, should contact the Basic Needs Center (BNC) for support at https://studentlife.oregonstate.edu/bnc or 541-737-3747. The BNC has a food pantry, assistance signing up for SNAP, textbook lending program and many other resources to help students succeed.
Do you have any ideas on how we can combat student food insecurity or would you like more information on how you can get involved? Please don't hesitate to contact us, we'd love to hear from you!
